I plan to permanently irrigate the blueberries, but it’s too hot to work in the yard. Meaning it’s also too hot for my little bushes. Meanwhile I’m desperate to get out of the yard and take care of other business this month.
Goal: Get the blueberries watered daily with minimal set-up and minimal daily investment.
My solution: An independent irrigation system for the blueberries, set on a timer, and routed around the yard to keep it out of the way.
I’m temporarily leaving this soaker hose on the blueberry patch. When the weather cools, I’ll bury it under the landscape fabric and spread mulch over it.
Here’s the current setup at the spigot. I get annoyed by piles of hose so my main yard line is in a hose cabinet. Reeling it in daily is good for the biceps. 😉
This is a panorama of my yard. To simplify daily watering, I set up a system exclusively for the berries. To get the hose out of the way, I ran it along the fence, through the chicken yard, behind the sheds, wrapped around the porch, behind the bushes, and to the spigot.
